About The Ridge

In the heart of the Driftless region, we’re grateful to have the opportunity to steward 30 acres of wild woodlands and farmland on unceded Sauk + Meskwaki, Hoocak, and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ territory. The tillable acres once farmed organically, have shifted into native prairies, and we will be working with honoring the land to restore ecosystems + make it a home for more than just us human beings. Near the wild orchard + old grandfather oak tree, we hope to restore the pond. In the spring, we are planning on establishing our first hive where the woods meet the orchard.

Over the past two years, we have countless hours lost in wonder, connecting with the land through hikes, camping, and walking its ridges, to co-create in envisioning our dreams. In the spring, we will begin our home build with local carpenters + amish. Stay tuned for more details about our design process.
